Bio
I collaborate with my family to make collages, composites, and staged images in order to investigate our relationships and our family history. An important process of my practice is taking note of our personalities and habits to explore the interconnections between our individuality and our familial roles. While embracing those traits I also choose to reenact specific components of our relationship. The role reversals and even role sharing allow me to understand my contribution as the eldest child in an immigrant family. I become a motherly figure to my mom while simultaneously becoming a child to my younger brother.
Working with family can be tricky because of how personal it is but, we work together to help one another explore and understand our relationship with our past and present selves.
