Bio

ARECIS TIBURCIO ZANE (b. 2000) was born and raised in New York City to Mexican Parents. She began photographing when she went to sleepaway camp: the first time she was away from her parents. Since then she has been actively creating art in many forms but primarily in photography. She has graduated from the Creative Practices Program at the  International Center of Photography (2021) and has received a BFA in Photography from St. John's University (2022).

She is currently an art teacher where she works with students at
the elementary and middle school level. She enjoys her walks to work and loves learning alongside her students. She hopes to encourage them to be creative and comfortable when challenges arise.
